With the votes from last Tuesday’s election almost completely tallied, it has become apparent that my quest to become Chula Vista’s first elected City Attorney has not succeeded. While I am disappointed, as I am sure many of you are, I am proud to have given the citizens of Chula Vista a viable alternate choice for City Attorney.
For only having campaigned for the three months immediately preceding the election, I believe that we did an excellent job of getting our message out to the citizens of Chula Vista. Our great showing at the polls would not have been possible without the help and support of so many, and I would like to publicly thank you all for your support and kind words of encouragement. However, I would be remiss if I failed to thank a few of the long time Chula Vista residents whose hard work and perseverance made me feel welcome in your city. Theresa, thank you so much for the many hours you spent walking neighborhoods and handing out literature. Jerry, thank you for all the signs you delivered along with the kind words of support. Alicia and Penny, thank you for the introductions. Ken, thank you for simply the best political website I have ever seen in San Diego County, bar none. David, thank you for all the driving with signs. Corina, thanks for all of the good spots. Cheryl, thank you for standing on street corners. To Earl and Karen, thanks for taking the pressure off, leveling the playing field, and giving me the opportunity to compete.
Finally, I wish Mr. Googins nothing but success as Chula Vista’s new City Attorney. Chula Vista faces many difficult legal issues in the coming months and years. I truly believe that if Mr. Googins is successful in handling these matters that the residents and taxpayers of Chula Vista will be better off.
Chula Vista truly is a hidden gem in Southern California. I am thankful for the friends and places that I discovered in my short time in your city, and look forward to those continued relationships.
Many thanks and best wishes for a wonderful future.
Sincerely,
